Hi, I’M MEG.

I live in West Hartford, CT with my husband Chris and our baby girl Nell. We love classic American style and bickering about whose turn it is to unload the dishwasher. Glad you stopped by!

Autumn Home Refresh

Autumn Home Refresh

As summer winds down and we all get back in the “swing of things” this fall I love to re-think our home decor. I’m not one for faux-leaves or more traditional seasonal chatchki’s (I much prefer natural elements that also don’t require storage!) but I do love to update small touches like swapping out worn hand towels, a few new candles, and organizing our spaces.

I was shopping around for a few pieces and thought I might as well curate and share my favorites. Suplly chain issues will be very real this holiday season, so it’s also not a bad idea to grab a few of these items for gifts while everyone still has inventory. Most are really affordable, warm little updates for the season. Enjoy!

  • This is our favorite duvet cover - 100% linen and a GREAT price. Love this color for fall!

  • I’m trying out these curtains for the dining room. I wanted something with just a touch of color and this ‘light grey’ has some serious potential. I doubled up for our bay window for that full expensive feel but these are 1/10 the price of the custom curtains I just priced!

  • We have a few of these as jewelry boxes and the quality has been great! I just ordered this one for our sunglasses on our entry table to prevent…Scout from eating them!!!

  • I have this pepper mill on my wish list; so special looking and would feel like a little jewel on our counters!

  • I’ve been buying these Studio McGee for Target pillows and then replacing the inserts with down ones from Amazon. Voila! Luxe pillows for half the cost.

  • I have this umbrella basket in our entry and I always get complements on it. It’s only $35! It’s a sturdy resin wicker and has a water catch at the bottom. I have a second one from the same line that I use to store gift wrap.

  • This is the blanket ladder pictured above in our guest room. Perfect for towels and a few magazines when we have guests in town!

  • I’m buying a few of these to bring as hostess gifts with a bottle of something brown this fall and winter.

  • I ordered this round marble tray to catch keys and trinkets - it’s got a nice depth to it and is under $30. I also have and love this soapstone one from Target. I swear I can never have too many little trays to get things organized around here.

  • I love the warmth a touch of burgundy or rust can bring to a space for call - this lamp with pleated shade and this throw pillow are perfectly subtle and chic. This pillow is fantastic, too, and a bit more seasonless.

  • This mortar and pestle are perfect for making fall cocktails to sip while cooking from the best cookbook of all time!

  • I think it’s SO hard to find good picture frames especially if you won’t want a metal finish. I love the depth of this one and the texture of this one - and both colorways are perfect for fall.

  • A good pair of secateurs (garden shears) are one of the most underrated entertaining staples IMO. These have a great weight and handfeel to them and I grab them to snag a few stems of something green outside almost weekly.

  • Speaking of green, I love this little $20 pot to bring your herbs in for the fall.

  • I think glass mugs are so chic and these smoky gray ones would be so pretty to serve a warm creamy cinnamon coffee when the weather gets crisp.
