Hi, I’M MEG.

I live in West Hartford, CT with my husband Chris and our baby girl Nell. We love classic American style and bickering about whose turn it is to unload the dishwasher. Glad you stopped by!

Last Minute Gift Ideas

Last Minute Gift Ideas

‘Tis the week before Christmas i.e. when all of my gifts are bought EXCEPT those for all the people that are impossible to shop for ;) I actually found quite a few fun options for “people that have everything” in a wide price range when doing my own shopping this weekend so I thought I would share my finds.

  • My MIL got us this exact pizza stone probably 6/7 years ago and it’s seasoned so beautifully! It’s perfectly priced at exactly $50 and will last a lifetime

  • I always love to give a beautiful, heirloom version of something simple and found a few great options for the kitchen, like this stunning wooden utensil set, this beautiful Danish corkscrew, and these beeswax wraps that make a gorgeous alternative to plastic wrap

  • I picked up these adorable little lunch notes as a stocking stuffer - such a cute white elephant gift if you have one coming up with your mom friends! I grabbed one of these blue light blockers for a gift exchange as well, great for anyone you know that spends a lot of time on their laptop

  • I included a few of my other favorite sustainable swaps, like this lightweight glass water bottle, my favorite reusable coffee mug, and the lunch bowl that I bring to work every day

  • Shameless plug that my Seaside Nama Mat pattern makes a great gift! It’s sold out in the smaller size but we still have a few of the larger one (the one I have). Last day for holiday shipping is this Wednesday, Dec. 18!

  • I’m writing about my 2020 project soon, but it involves a big focus on wellness. I love this book of 365 Meditations for Purposeful Living - would be a great gift alone with this travel meditation stool (especially if you hate sitting cross-legged like I do!)

  • I recently swapped out my pillow case for a silk one to help with how hot I sleep and the benefits have been astounding! My curled hair lasts a full two days long and my skin feels so much less irritated in the morning! This Mason Pearson brush is a splurge but I’ve had mine for years now and it’s such incredible quality. Not to mention disposable plastic personal care items (toothbrushes, combs, brushes, etc.) live forever in our oceans and I love that I will never need to buy another brush in my lifetime. It’s the perfect thing to give or receive as a special Christmas gift.

  • I love to give this Diptyque Baies candle, it’s so luxurious and something I’d have a hard time buying myself. Such a treat to light while you meditate or read before bed! It’s a smidge over $50 at $65 but shipping is free at Nordstrom :)

  • Someone graciously gave me the infamous Vinter’s Daughter as an extremely thoughtful gift and it lives up to the hype! The perfect gift for your mom, MIL, aunt-who-has-everything… I’ve been using it for a few weeks now and absolutely love it!

  • A more budget-friendly beauty must-have is the Weleda Skin Food. It’s under $20 and the only cream in the world that can save my dry skin. I use it as an overnight mask on my face and as a rich hand cream during the day - a little goes a long way!

  • I impulsively picked up one of these Aqui Hair Towels at a spa in Charleston last year and have been surprised that I use it EVERY day. So much less bulky than a traditional towel and doesn’t damage your hair. A great gift at $30

  • This mini hand vacuum has quite literally changed my life - the joy it brings me to get dust and crumbs out of every crack is crevice is priceless but it’s also perfect priced for gifting at $49.99. Perfect for moms, college kids, dads that like to clean their car, etc!

  • I bought a great sweater shaver off of Amazon last year but it died within a few months :( This one has great reviews, looks easy to hold and great for travel. I’m happy to pay the $50 for one that lasts and it comes in a bunch of fun color!

  • Speaking of travel, I went to Nashville this summer and stayed in a hotel room located above a Honky-Tonk bar. Insane fail; I didn’t sleep a wink. This travel sound machine would make a great gift for anyone in your life that spends time in hotels!

  • I also love this $45 makeup bag; it stands up straight, has a second pocket for brushes, and is WASHABLE! Game changer.

  • If you’re looking for something slightly more luxurious I’d go with this personalized one from Paravel; love the clear sides and painted monogram!

  • J. Sperling Paperie send me one of her beautiful 3-year motherhood journals and it’s such a special keepsake. Love this small business and the sentiment behind this gift

  • I’ve shared at length that CBD has done wonders for my chronic pain but it’s also been amazing for self-care over these last few stressful weeks. Equilibria is my brand of choice - they are currently have a 10% off sale sitewide through their holiday shipping deadline on Wednesday, but you can take another 15% off your order with code MEGHALL for a total of 25% off! New and existing customers!

  • Yearly Co is another small business I love and their 2” gold threader hoops are the perfect investment gift!

  • I absolutely love these modern silhouettes from Le Papier Studio - the perfect gift at $30! I would gift them not only to parents/grandparents but also to pet lovers. You’d need a photo ready to place the order!
